I like it.  I'm thinking along the lines of a point system and possibly even have the leaderboard on the index somewhere to draw interest.  Dunno if I'm committing to $10 a month long term if it's gonna be just the same half dozen freerollers every month, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Yeah, I'm on thinking of September at the moment, but it might be something we do regularly. Or build into something bigger.

So, I'm thinking:

1. You need to cash in the freerolls to earn points.
2. There needs to be at least 50 people in the MTT for it to count.
3. You need to post a screenshot here, or email/PM me, JB and/or six your official email from Prodigy that shows your place in the tourny, how much you won AND how many people were in the tourny all up.
4. Do we want to have people post their interest in this thread BEFORE they play, or can people just turn up here after the fact?

And I'm thinking of the following Multipliers

Field         Multiplier
50 to 75   1.0
76-100     1.1
101-125   1.2
126-150   1.3
151-200   1.4
201-250   1.5
251-300   1.6
301-350   1.7
351-400   1.8
401-500   1.9
501+        2.0

Place    Points
1         100
2         70
3         50
4         44
5         38
6         33
7         28
8         24
9         20
remaining top 5% - 17.5
> 5% - 10% - 15
> 10% - 15% - 12.5
> 15% - 20% - 10

So if you finish 30th in a field of 420 you earn 15 points (top 7.1%) x 1.9 = 28.5 points.

Thoughts?

I love the scoring system, that should do very nicely.  I'm on board for the most part with the rest.  I think the scores should be posted here within 24 hours to count, so everyone can see it.

Do they ever run under 50 people on the freerolls?  If that's anything like regular, I'd suggest we have some points attached to those as well; perhaps a flat top 3 point system (25/15/10 for instance) so that it's not a total waste for people to play them.  Or we could just add a multiplier (or multipliers) under 1.0.

Yeah this is better. I gave people the PM/email option for those that can't post screen shots, but a post with the details should be fine.

I haven't looked hard, but I hadn't seen any under 50. The one's that require poker points have smaller fields, but 68 was the smallest of those I've seen in the last couple of days. Biggest field is 583.

I think the idea is great and the scoring system looks perfect.

I agree that players should have to report their scores within 24 hours (whether it's through a post or PMing an admin). I'm not sure if I think players should have to show interest before the competition starts or not, but I definitely think to be included in the competition you have to be a member of the forum before the competition starts. I'd prefer not to have the freeroll whores signing up just to take our $.

That sounds fair enough. You need to be a member before midnight August 31st. We should give it a plug so the freeroll whores can sign up now.

A little over 24 hours until this begins! Get ready everyone.

And I assume anyone can play as long as they have a registered account before the game begins? No signups? Seems like it would be a little late for that.

Yeah, there didn't seem to be a good reason to keep people out after the start of September, so they can start when ever.

JB, six, BNS and I are registered. Fuzzy's playing another freeroll right now, but might join us later. Should be a good showing.

Enjoy the first 30 minutes without me. See you when I get up to work.

Nice work sir. 15 points for the top 10% finish and 1.8 multiplier gives you 27 points to start. Woot.

BNS blinded to 2nd place amongst the fourumers, making 98th, 38 short of the money.

Played the 6:00pm EST freeroll today and managed to cash.

Tourney ID#: 1711772
Entrants: 547
My Place: 38th (Top 7% I think)
Cash: An amazing $0.01

Will post the e-mail when I receive it.

Confirmed it in the Lobby. Nice work, sir.

2.0 X 15 points is another 30 for you.
