Nice1 now your up and running i'd suggest you get your macafee to run an in-depth scan, it might take hours but it will be worth while some anti malware software would also be good, maybe malwarebytes or spyware doctor ... 

Would you be able to download AVAST (free home edition) its one of the few that does a boot time clean, basically it kicks in before anything else then scans and cleans your comp !!

I suggested starting in safe mode to give you a chance to rescue any important stuff you dont want to lose

Have you got the installation disks with your operating system on them ?

And what operating system are you using ?
