he asked dozens of pros via Twitter that simple q: how long did it take and how much did you loose before you turned pro?

And a few actually responded. Might be encouraging to some, give you perspective etc.

methinks the "losing money" might be a direct result of "flawed logic" as displayed by your verbiage (and intelligently corrected by Fletch) here: http://www.sixandfourum.com/poker-education/what-are-the-odds/msg25981/#msg25981

We're all pros at something*

*except those of us who are unemployed, self-employed, on disability, using the interwebs to make moniez in some fashion legal or otherwise, and of course Fletch who's newly redundant.  So at least a good third of us.

Srsly, sorry to hear that bro. Not having a father present in the important adolescent years of a child's life = very difficult to heal the damage that results. I'm not a bible-believer (anymore) but my teenage son is and he invited me to watch a recent film "Courageous" -- it was surprisingly good, not as preachy as I expected, and it really touched my heart, we shared some tears and had some good conversations afterwards, it's about fatherhood and about "manning up" and being a strong male model ... you might find it cathartic, or healing. not joking.
