Well, to start you'll need a bankroll.  Freeroll it till you get at least 20 bucks, and then we can work up a plan.

But for educational purposes, I'll put a general cookie cutter plan for anyone:

SNG's :  Play SNGs with buyin up to 5% of your roll

MTT's:  Play MTT's wuth buyin up to 3% of your roll

Cash:  Always buy in full*, for no more than 5% of your roll.

*there are decent shortstack strategies you can play at, but they should not be used as a substitute for being rolled.  You will have much more variance which will affect the stability of your roll, so you'd need to be rolled as if you were buying in full.  At any rate, if you don't adhere to BR management rules, you certainly don't have the discipline to play an effective shortstack strategy.

Hey bud, I don't know how much BR you have - and don't really care.  I do relate with your problem I like to call "The Eleventh Chair".

A little background here about me..... I'm the Dad - in a 7 member Household - my Wife, and Five Girls ranging from 6 to 20. Pets - 2 Cats "Cody" and "Tiberius", a Raven "Mr Spock" Fish and cockatiels.

Speaking from experience, chicks are loud and drama, Wives always have some other than what you want to do, for you to do; and especially if it's poker. So no matter how empty the table you're sitting at, there is always that extra damn chair filled..... that is the base behind RossDaddy's "The Eleventh Chair" concept.

Bro I CAN relate.... and I DO seem to survive on skint amounts on various sites and skins.  Never is there an actual hour where you can allow yourself to be completely disconnected from your family duties, and when you can, you notice the better outcomes and more numerous itms.

I'd like to toss out just three maybe four things I do to defeat some of the factors that come with the eleventh chair.

sometimes the distractions only serve to dissuade you from good poker, and no matter how much you "think" you want to play, you been set off kilter just enough for it to matter in your game play and so, you may have even been defeated before you got to pay your entrance.  Often, this will send you into the spiral that says, aww I can get it back and you pay and pay and pay again until you've "committed" your BR.  This is bad.  If you want to play and play and play, play tourneys. - envision your chips as cash instead of 2000 chips - play cards - get5 some hands in get a feel for your day.  Don't throw good money after bad - if you're having a tough go of it, stop.   Live today to play another day.

Stop for a few hours and come back to it.  I Play Pogo.com - I upgraded my free membership to premium using "Coke points" - (I collect the points off the 12 packs and 2 liters - enter into the web and taa-daa - spend em on pogo)....... or I play forum games...... goto Facebook, screw around there, watch a netflix - Play Wii, etc.

Anyway - having that extra chair at your table should help you learn BRM much faster than those other guys who are sitting in their chairs without any distractions, and just think about what their thinking would be with those distractions playing live that you're already used to.

BRM includes using a distraction device for when your rhythms are low (having a bad streak of cards, getting rivered time and time again, DonkeyPoo happens). Those are some of the distraction devices I use. I know this may be a little fragmented, but I just barfed it up here.

Back on track. I have had some small sucess in the freeroll areana of late. Now once again do have a small very small br.last week I had less the 7cents. Hit a private freeroll for 4.13 itm lost half at ring game. and decided it was time to put forth a plan and stick to it. I didnt know that the one day ironman freeroll was there. All You have to do is get 1 ftp point per day and you qualify for the 2k gtd fr.so having lost half my br the on the first i got my point needed. Then discovered that the .10c1kgtd rbu pays u 1 ftp for a ten cent buyin i get 1 ftp. Cool so with 2.70 left in my br i chosse to play this game evryday for febuary. And with some luck maybe a cash or two along the way. My goal is to enter the ironman one day freeroll. . Freerollbird

Ty , Fletch. I'm still on track at tilt and do have enuff br to finish out the month for the oneday ironman fr next month. In the meantime i also play some smaller rooms. and have had some success with fr's. Tonight i played a .25c rebuy and here are the results. .
