Playing 1/2 live at Mardi Gras Casino in WV. Table is full of old passive fish and young passive fish. I wouldn't label anyone at the table as solid tbh. BTN in this hand had been a real nit, I haven't seen him raise but a few hands and I assume they were premiums.

Hero is BB with K :club:Q

Effective stacks for the hand are around $300

UTG calls $2, 1 fold, MP1 raises to $7, MP2 calls $7, 2 folds, BTN calls $7, SB calls $6, Hero calls $5, UTG calls $5

6 players $42 pot

Flop: Q T 4

5 checks, BTN bets $25, 1 fold, Hero calls $25, 3 folds

Turn Q [Q T 4 Q ]

Hero checks, BTN bets $30, Hero raises $30 to $60, BTN snap ships for $200 more, Hero?

Should we c/c turn? As played are you calling with AQ? Thoughts?

BTN calls $7
BTN being a nit, this would not be a PF call w/ AK/AQ/KK/JJ/TT imho.
This is the 1 place he MUST thin the field [even in WV].
My read is more 55-99/KQ/JQ/TQ
I would snap call as played, KQ or AQ.
Yes, QT beats you, but that's only 15% of his range.
Also, c/r flop to 50-70; if he snap ships there, you safely put him on 2 pair and bail.

If you're folding to a 3 bet then raising is a mistake. You raise to get better hands to fold (which is not happening here) and to get worse hands to put chips in the middle.

pics or it didn't happen.

srsly, what "young" players are passive? They all seem to thinking light 3-betting and flop/turn shoving 2x or 3x the pot = the way NLHE is supposed to be played. (Loose, sure, but Loose-Passive, not usually .. imo)

agreed, the flop should not be for pot control, you need to get some value from draws right now with likely the best hand, or get away from a set who thinks you are committed with TPGK and thus re-ships.

as played, turn is ez call, live there are tons of people who seem to represent virtually any paired card but actually just have another pair and think "I haz 2 pair, I goez all-in" lol. Or bonus: often they don't realize their flopped terrible-two-pair has just got counterfeited.

Tournament might be a turn fold depending on the makeup of the table and your current position etc. but cash game = call 100%. Cooler? Oh well, reload...

Running pokerstove, you're an 88% favorite OTT before the action heats up (I gave him a 15% range, not including JJ+, AQ+).

Once the action heats up, I assigned him a range of queens, 44, TT, AT, and draws just for good measure. You happen to be a 3:1 favorite there.

But if we take those hands out of his range, and only leave queens or sets, you're actually a slight underdog. But being a slight underdog (48/52) and all the money in the pot should justify a call. This is assuming though he doesn't have AQ in his range. Pot odds basically dictate that this is a call.

Definitely agree here.

Results were I folded and he showed TT. Appreciate the responses; gonna have to post here more cause i started missing the forum.
