Villain is one of the few very competent players I've seen on Everleaf 2nl. First, this hand happened before I had my HUD open and I didn't know what kind of player he was.

Everleaf - $0.02 NL - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (BB): $2.00
UTG: $1.81
BTN: $0.56
SB: $2.25

SB posts SB $0.01, Hero posts BB $0.02

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has  K A

UTG raises to $0.06, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.18, UTG calls $0.12

Flop: ($0.37, 2 players)  6 5 J
Hero checks, UTG checks

Turn: ($0.37, 2 players)  6
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.20, fold

UTG wins $0.36

Him flatting the 3bet and me not hitting the flop kind of put me in a very passive mode. I was blind without the HUD and didn't hit, so by general principle I didn't cbet. At the time, I thought the J hit him hard, giving him a range of 77-QQ, all broadways, etc. I think it's good.

So then this hand happens. Villain is 22/17 thru 130 hands. 36% steal, 1/4 fold to 3bet, 60% cbet, with an AF of 2. I didn't 3bet pre because I think I was a bit timid due to the AK hand. But isn't 3betting here usually profitable, considering he's raising probably 30% of his range and folding (probably) only half of that range to a 3bet?

OTF, the K comes. I debated between leading out and x/c (maybe even a x/r, get sneaky!), but I'm not sure that it's all that great. Now an interesting thing happens OTT. The A shows up. This has got to be the perfect semi-bluff card, right? Or do you think that he thinks that I would have 3bet any A PF if I was playing an A, so an A can't be in my range? I know, it's 2nl, but this guy has and played what seemed to be a very attentive and decent game.

Once he calls the turn bet, we kind of have to finish the bluff out. Or are we just wasting money by betting again?

I am not sophisticated enough to make a real comment.
Come on ppl, here is a old timer real card player inviting comment and no one has posted anything?

The 1st hand I flat the PFR and when I miss hope they either make a small bet at the pot or check. As played my guess is either a small pp <99 or air. I have to believe they bet flop with any J.

The 2nd hand I just don't know. Again I am not smart enough to have much of an opion here other than at these stakes "If it quacks like a duck it is prob a duck".    My guess is a weak A

I seen a sn the other day..."ProFolder"...I sometimes feel this way

The first hand, 3betting pre I think is a must. Yeah, flatting will keep his worse hands in IE AJ, KT but AK absolutely sucks to play OOP period, much less OOP and HUDless. That's why we 3bet, so that we can get more money into the pot with a stronger hand, become the aggressor, and potentially have a chance to just take it down right there without needing to play OOP.

First hand is fine.

Second hand we have stats and can see he is playing well. Does this mean he is paying attention to your stats and does he think you are playing well?

You definitely need to bet twice here. When I'm OOP I generally 3 bet pre and c bet the flop. You put in the same amount as you did, but you're really applying the pressure to your opponent and you eliminate most of their bluff hands.

were only 3 people dealt in?

Hand #2: 3bet pre and cbet 100% imo -- preflop he's not gonna let go of many hands he raises (since 3handed) and OTF you do not want to give him the initiative.

Hand #1: what others have said, any hand other than premium pairs are ughly to play OOP, so preflop [re-]raising to "see where you're at" is where it's at imo. In general you don't want to play "call preflop, flop fit-or-fold" when this shorthanded, but especially not OOP. Plus if your flop checks/bets are always "honest" then it will be impossible for you to ever win a big pot vs. attentive opponents.
