There aren't many regs, and there are fewer "decent" regs at 2nl Everleaf. This happens to be one of them. It's also our second bout playing HU in the last 2 weeks, trying to start a table.

Villain is 30/24 thru 304 hands. 13% 3bet, 53% FT3B, 53% cbet (not all hands are HU). Notes on him:
-3bet ATo HU, x K63 flop, bet 6 turn, x 2 river
-flatted 3bet with QJs, called shove on T87ssx flop
-Did not 3bet T9 HU (apparently I thought that was important)
At this point, we had played ~50 hands HU trying to get a table started. I was getting absolutely rapped in card distribution and having a hard time playing back at him. I had 4bet shoved on him twice pf, and he had 4bet shoved on me twice pf as well. This time, he 4bets to 50bb. I'm not sure if this is a ploy by him or not to try to get me to shove. Should we shove or just fold and wait for a possibly better spot?

Everleaf - €0.02 NL - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

Hero (BB): €2.14
SB: €2.99

SB posts SB €0.01, Hero posts BB €0.02

Pre Flop: (€0.03) Hero has K Q

SB raises to €0.06, Hero raises to €0.20, SB raises to €1.00, Hero Huh?Huh?

He's raising 24% of his hands and folding half of them to a 3 bet so he's continuing with top 12% of hands. What percentage is he raising and what percentage is he calling? You're either getting it in or folding here, so you need to put in $1.80 to win $4. I know HU plays more aggro but I doubt you have 45% equity here. The very occasional times he's doing this with two undercards or KJ is more than offset by AK, AQ and his pairs. He's raised you out of the pot and stats/notes don't indicate he's doing this with worse often enough (or ever).

Ok, I filtered his stats for just HU play.

35/31
49% Attempt to steal (37/76)
27% Fold to 3bet (3/11)
18% 4bet (2/11)

All through 290 hands.

So if these numbers are accurate, then he is (lol sample size) 4betting with a much smaller frequency than 12% of hands.

He's raising 49% of his hands and 4 betting 18% of them. Multiplying them together gives me about 9% of his range. But yeah, lol sample size.

If he had 4 bet a reasonable size, to 45 or 50, it would be worth continuing but not where he's essentially shoving.

Does it change at all the fact that our dynamic during this HU session was to shove on our 4bets?

You mean usually he'd shove but this time he choose to bet $1? If anything I think that makes his range stronger.

That's what I initially thought too. The fact that his $1 4bet was a strong hand is probably very helpful in the future. It very well could mean that he plays a good game, but doesn't know how to mix it up. I wound up calling and was crushed by AK.
