And of course it can't get it cuz of the DNS being dead now.

Does anyone have the IP address for FullTiltPoker.com ?? I had posted in the FTPforum just before it went bye-bye ... I didn't think the forum would disappear so quickly; did anyone have the foresight to save the IP address?

Because it's a simple matter of changing your local file "HOSTS" to point to that IP for any HTTP requests to the domain name. Dammit, I feel so stupid for just posting it on the FTPforum and not even emailing myself the info Sad

(FYI: the path is usually... C: / Windows / System32 / drivers / etc)

you should be able to download the update. It wasn't working before because they were moving the site and I guess all the servers to a different IP adress that is in UK I think

I don't think there is a "fulltiltpoker.com" anymore, it's been seized.  The problem you are having has been happening to many other people.  There is a fix posted in that 2+2 thread, I will look for it and post it here when I find it.  If what you are trying now doesn't work.

just an fyi -- what I was saying is, if the forum login, and the client download, are trying to go to "fulltiltpoker.com", then by modifying my HOSTS file to the actual IP (instead of whatever the DOJ is using) I was hoping I might be able to "get through".

Yep, that's it.  Don't know if it will work or not, I got my auto update last night at 0150, 10 minutes after it was scheduled to start.  My client works fine, but I just can't play on the tables.  I can access the FTF from the client, but can't log into the forum.  They are apparently working on that small problem now.

I was told that you could still look at the fulltilt forum just couldn't log in... I've tried the www.pokerforums.fulltiltpoker.co.uk but it didn't work, is that link wrong?

Yeah, that link won't work ATM.  You can get to the FTF via the client.  It is now under "help" in the main lobby.  (Full Tilt's Forum(web))  Click that and you will be taken to the FTF, but you won't be able to log in most likely.
