Sometime next week, we will be changing hosting for the site.  This will probably result in a brief downtime.  I'm not sure exactly when we'll make the move, but as soon as Fletch and I have a plan I will post it here.

OK, the plan is to start changeover at 2 am EST Saturday.  I don't know how long an interruption of service will be; if I understand the process it might be just a few minutes, and if I don't it may be up to 72 hours.  I believe that since I will not be removing the site from the current server until the DNS is all set at the other, there should basically be no interruption, just perhaps a few lost posts here and there.  But if I'm wrong, we could have a little break.  Either way, see ya Tuesday at the latest.

... it might be just a few minutes, ... it may be up to 72 hours.
This, really. I will close down the Fourum, back it up and move it the new servers which will take about 5 mins. Then we change the DNS servers, and the time will be how long it takes for the new DNS info to permeate through the mysterious ether that is ... The Interwebz.

Once I've moved it, I might be able to post a direct link to the new location for us to use till the DNS updates. Basically keep checking back and it will be there eventually.

Oh, so modest Fletch you are, tell the truth!

JB, those little green balls are gold mixed with silver.  The upper tier, the proper people of the world always have precious metals put upon their food.  We lesser people can only imagine.  Here we see one of Mrs. Fletch's favorite vendors who sells pure gold covered moon cakes-

Fletch only eats those on special occasions.  Like when little Fletch junior makes it through the day without making poo poo in his underwear.  The little guy is going through pottie training don't you know, little rewards like that make it all the easier for him to learn to be a big boy.

We all suffer in our inadequacy.

You really should try his wife's diamond encrusted tea cakes.  Apparently he craps out more precious metals than the temporary workers in the De Beers mines.

That sounds divine.

The diamond tea cakes, not the crapping of precious metals, just wanted to clarify that....

Smooth. You're beginning to watch what you say, now that you have your own "REAL" thread. Let the fun begin.

Folks, we'll be attempting to move the server after midnight server time tonight, so in about 5 hours or so. I'll take the fourum offline, move it, then once it's moved post a redirection link so you should have access to it after just a few minutes or so.

Okay, kids. The fourum has been moved. Six's DNS settings updated immediately but others will take a bit longer. The redirect page is in place to get you here, and you should be right to carry on posting as per normal.

Couple of graphics that haven't updated. Let us know if you find anything out of the ordinary and we'll fix it up.

Cheers

So my DNS updated, and I'm going to assume most others will have as well. I have changed all the directories here to point to the correct address rather than the temporary Sub Directory. Attachments, graphics and banners all seem to be working fine.

Again, if anyone spots anything, let me know. Otherwise, I'm going to classify this as a successful move. Ray!
