What is needed to know when playing in a MTT...

I have the basics down im just looking for help once the money bubble has busted!

Should I consider taking more risk with a larger chipstack due to the fact that most med-short stacks are giving up or looking to double up with mod hands because they figure they are ITM

any opinion will help  THX

I don't pay that much attention to the money bubble tbh, as there is no money to be made in simply "cashing", I am looking to chip up early, so I am looking at every opportunity to get my chips in early on to build a stack. I am looking to have at least 30bb by the time antes kick in, and hopefully much more than that.

With 30bbs, I am opening up my range lots with suited connectors, broadways, etc.. to try to pick up the blinds and antes, and if I get called, out play people post flop to pick up large pots. I am also set mining, and hopefully getting people to stack off that way.  Grin

especially in the large tournaments, the dynamics do change abruptly when the bubble bursts, if you have a green zone stack, i think it's best to tighten up for a few minutes till the craziness subsides.  Then let your stack size determine your level of aggression.

yep exactly--as presented in Harrington on holdem. Called M

M= stack size divided by (BB + SB +(ante x num of players at table))
Green Zone greater than 20
Yellow greater than 10
Orange between 5 and 10
Red 5 or less
Dead Zone is less than one

Sometimes it's a lot easier just to count the # of BB's, but the concept remains the same--as your stack gets whittled down, you have to adjust your aggression level and hand selection.

If you've never read it, you might want to read Harrigton on Holdem, volume 2 for a good explanation and examples of various zone play.

Always get more aggressive if I am short stacked after the bubble bursts. Always going for the win!1st and 2nd place are great payouts compared to your buy in. Gotta go for it!
