I believe its 100% luck to win or even make $ playing tourneys. I Wonder if someone would take a "poker tournament is skill" challenge. Player must be a big tournament winner. Buyin cost doesnt matter. It could be a $2 game they won, but must be at least something like 5000 players, some big game they won. They must stick to BRM from there win, and, if within that roll can ship another tourney the same size well... I dont care.

I see them all the time. Guarentees get up there on stars. Ok 3000 players then. Ok maybe this post just sucks and I will just shut up and stop the red wine talking.Probably better option.
Just annoying I made final table first game $3, 1st place $550 and I come 6th because some supernova elite watever jokerstars donk had AQ and I had AK allin pre they win and Im koed and then every game after that just lose, lose with hands. Its like takes all the effort to get so far IF can even make it then its still just a donk fest. Its either lose early with cards and take a gamble or play well for hours only to make it so close just to get donked again. I had a $65 BR from my win I ended up depositing again couple hours later just on $3 rebuy games. Not 100% correct Br but just pure Joke. Its like lose lose lose. Make a payout struggle only to double the buyin if lucky.Extra lucky to make final table.

Its a joke. Im ranked one of the worst online poker players at the moment. Why because idiots are taking my chips and I cant get a normal game in. So I suck because I lose playing good cards either ahead or if behind at least i got something to play so i suck. Calling a ALLIN SHOVE WITH 88 against AK and more cant be bothered explaining flips but whatever its just BS.

Anyhow Im going to come to prodigy poker soon. Give it a go with all yo here.

I believe its 100% luck to win or even make $ playing tourneys. (...additional more whining and complaining...)
So how many did you lose?

Seriously though, imo since it is "Top 3" that makes the serious moneyz and to get more than 5x your buyin back you've gotta make maybe Top 6 or 7, you've gotta make a choice: either "A" play the 1000+ entry flipaments where you are VERY rarely gonna make the FT, but the HUNDREDS of buyins you earn for a Top 3 finish is worth the RunBad you'll experience on the way... or else "B" just play <200 entry tourneys, where you have a far higher chance of surviving to the final table, at which point you might only earn 10-20 x your buyin, but if you can do it relatively consistently then it's gonna be long-term profitable for you, in a far shorter time.

Personally I have found the "sweet spot" for me in live MTTs (usually $40..$70 buyin) is around 35-50 entries, unless I bust out really early on a cooler (or a moron chasing bad and hitting on the river) I will have a 2x average stack from the first break right to the final 2 tables, and I can sense when to take advantage of the nits to build my stack up HUGE before we become the final table -- essentially I just gotta survive from the start to 20-ish players, then I can focus on building a "take it down" sized stack. BUT it seems with 60+ entries there is just so many more flips I gotta survive to make it to the final 2 tables, which means either I bust more often or else I play tighter and thus have a shortstack at the final table (or possible bust out at the final 2 tables since I won't be able to survive my first all-in that I lose).

So anyway TL;DR "if the high variance of larger-field MTTs makes you feel that MTTs are way too much luck for your emotional comfort level, then play smaller field MTTs and enjoy more frequent Top3 cashes, even if they aren't as insanely large as you woulda got in the larger-field MTTs". imo.

I do find it easier playing 45 man. Thats about my best games. Not too long so I fall asleep and only need a couple of flips and not even a big stack to make a final table. Still I havent had a good run with anything lately. Its more these 180+ games. Cant see the point in such a long donk feast.

what goes on here?

Ummm MTTs are hard yo, sometimes you run good, some times you run bad, sometimes you run into a cooler, sometimes you get bad beat.... it happens-

so said "donk" calls your shove with AQ and sucksout vs your AK--- this is a pretty standard beat, in fact the exact same thing happened to me at a miniftops FT to KO me in 5th place instead of giving me 75% of chips in play--- dude called my 5bet shove with AQ. This was very heartbreaking considering I had dominated the entire field of a bunch pf players and first place was "life-changing" monies (something like 185k as opposed to the 16k I got for 5th place).

Bottom line is- would you feel better if he had called with AA or KK, or even QQ for that matter. You ran into a hand and got beat by the board. There are no sure things in a single tourney unless you shove the nuts after the river card is dealt. The goal for mtts is to make the best plays and eventually over the long term you should win money, but judging yourself or anyone else based on the results of one tourney is silly.

As far as your challenge goes... FTP had a lot less players than PS, but I back to back shipped the turbo fiddy on ftp- I am fairly certain the variance of turbos makes up for the lower number of -players. I also shipped the turbo fiddy, then immediately registered for a regular $55 game and shipped that one too, so I really don't think your challenge is much of a challenge, everything just has to line up right.

Once a taxi driver picked me up from the casino, I was wasted as we started talking bout tourneys. I asked him if he eats MTT like TS, just joking around, and he said 'yes, yes'. Suppose you had to be there to hear it. One of those moments. Unless he was a FTF reg. On every forum theres allways a taxi driver. Was probably Sanders himself.

Happy b,day ts.
